SHELTER-SHOP.COM
Terms & Conditions
Last updated: July 2026
1. Who We Are and Scope of These Terms
The website shelter-shop.com (the “Website”) is operated by Shelter Shop Oy (Business ID: 3625365-9), Hakoportaankatu 4 A 7, 53850 Lappeenranta, Finland, email info@shelter-shop.com (“Shelter Shop”, “we”, “us”).
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of the Website and purchases made through it. The Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy and Return & Refund Policy form part of these Terms. By using the Website or placing an order, you accept these Terms.
For consumers, nothing in these Terms limits the rights you have under mandatory law, including the Finnish Consumer Protection Act and EU consumer law; in case of conflict, mandatory law prevails. For business customers, the terms of our written quotation or order confirmation take precedence over these Terms where they differ.
2. Use of the Website
You agree to use the Website only for lawful purposes. You must not use the Website in a way that violates applicable laws, attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Website or its systems, or interfere with its proper functioning.
3. Intellectual Property
All content on the Website — including text, graphics, logos, images and product descriptions — is the property of Shelter Shop or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute or modify this content without our prior written consent, except for private, non-commercial viewing.
4. Products and Product Information
We aim to keep product descriptions, specifications and images accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that all information is complete, current or error-free. We may modify product details, update specifications or discontinue products without prior notice; this does not affect orders already confirmed.
Our products include protective and safety-related equipment. Product information on the Website is general in nature and does not constitute engineering, safety or regulatory advice. Products must be selected, installed, used and maintained in accordance with the accompanying instructions and applicable local regulations and standards. If you are unsure about the suitability of a product for your intended use, contact us or a qualified professional before ordering.
5. Orders and Formation of Contract
Placing an order on the Website constitutes an offer to purchase. A binding contract is formed when we send you an order confirmation by email. We may decline or cancel an order before dispatch in case of stock unavailability, an obvious error in price or product information, suspected fraud or misuse, or where the sale or export would violate applicable laws or restrictions (see Section 10). If we cancel an order that you have already paid, we will refund the payment in full without undue delay.
If the price or description of a product is obviously incorrect (for example, due to a typographical or technical error) and you could reasonably have been expected to notice the error, we are not bound by it.
6. Prices and Payment
Prices shown to consumers include VAT where applicable. Delivery costs are not included in product prices and are shown at checkout before you place your order, or provided in a written quotation for customized, oversized or B2B orders. Payment is made through the payment methods offered at checkout, operated by our payment service providers. For business customers, prices and payment terms are as stated in the quotation or order confirmation.
For deliveries outside the EU, prices may be shown without VAT, and import duties and taxes of the destination country are the customer's responsibility as described in our Shipping Policy.
7. Delivery
Delivery times, methods, costs and the passing of risk are described in our Shipping Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
8. Right of Withdrawal, Returns and Refunds
Consumers have a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods, subject to the statutory exceptions (including custom-made or clearly personalized products and certain sealed hygiene- or safety-related products). The conditions, procedure, exceptions and the model withdrawal form are set out in our Return & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
9. Statutory Liability for Defects
We are liable for defects in the goods in accordance with the Finnish Consumer Protection Act. If a product is defective, the consumer's remedies (repair, replacement, price reduction or cancellation of the purchase) are described in our Return & Refund Policy. These statutory rights exist independently of any manufacturer's warranty and are not limited by these Terms.
10. Export Control and Compliance
Some of our products may be subject to export control, sanctions or import restrictions in certain countries. We may decline, cancel or suspend an order where its fulfilment would, in our reasonable assessment, violate applicable export control or sanctions laws. The customer is responsible for ensuring that importing, possessing and using the products is lawful in the destination country and for obtaining any required local permits.
11. Limitation of Liability
We are not liable for damage caused by improper installation, use or maintenance of products, or by modifications made by the customer or third parties. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including loss of data, profits or business opportunities, or for damages resulting from the use of or inability to use the Website.
For business customers, our total aggregate liability arising from an order is limited to the price paid for that order. For consumers, this Section applies only to the extent permitted by mandatory law and does not limit statutory consumer rights, including rights in respect of defective goods and, where applicable, product liability for personal injury.
12. External Links
The Website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, policies or practices of these external sites.
13. Privacy
The processing of personal data in connection with the Website and orders is described in our Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time you place an order applies to that order. The current version, with its date, is always available on this page.
15. Disputes and Out-of-Court Resolution (Consumers)
If a disagreement concerning a purchase cannot be resolved through negotiation, consumers resident in Finland may contact the Consumer Advisory Services (kuluttajaneuvonta, www.kkv.fi) and may submit the dispute to the Consumer Disputes Board (Kuluttajariitalautakunta, www.kuluttajariita.fi). Before bringing a matter to the Consumer Disputes Board, the consumer should contact the Consumer Advisory Services. Consumers resident in other EU countries may contact the European Consumer Centre in their country of residence for assistance in cross-border disputes.
16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and any purchase made through the Website are governed by the laws of Finland, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). If you are a consumer residing in the EU, you also enjoy the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.
Disputes that cannot be resolved amicably are settled in the Finnish courts. A consumer may also bring proceedings in the competent court of their place of residence where provided by mandatory law.
